My work deals with the layering and removal of material. It presents a visual language that unflattens two dimensional form and gives weight to line and edge.

The recent move from paper to wood is motivated by scale. Paper scales freely in width and height, but is limited in its thickness and depth. Introducing a new material allows more freedom to explore in that direction. It is a necessary step in my journey toward the monumental.
